03/08/2008 16:41:43Mike BennettOn Wednesday 30th July the Annual General Meeting of the Barry Darts League took place at the Cadoxton Conservative Club, during the meeting Alan Shields resigned as League Chairman and the incoming Chairman and delegates thanked him for all of the help and time that he has given to the League over the past years.
The new Committee was voted on and are shown below:
Terry Seldon - League Chairman.
Nick Williams, Richie Williams, Rob Loe will share the League Secretary post.
Mike Copeland - Treasurer.
Mike Bennett - Premier Division Secretary and Publicity.
Dave Walters - 1st Division Secretary.
Mo Williams & Liz Carmichael - General Committee Members.

League Registration Forms are now available please contact Nick Williams for details of how to collect them call on 07868 733840. Please ensure that the delegates address and email is included onto the completed Forms.
IMPORTANT - Completed Registration Forms and ALL monies must be paid up on Friday 29th August at the Cadoxton Conservative Club, please ensure that YOUR team presents their form on that evening, Presentation Evening Tickets will also be handed out on that evening.
Fixtures will be sent out by Friday 12th September with the League season starting on Friday 19th September, 2008, the following week the 26th will be the Presentation Evening.

Proposals passed at the meeting were:
League Delegates meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of every month, with the first being on Wednesday 3rd September at 8:00pm in the Cadoxton Conservative Club.
All competitions will be re-integrated into the League System this season.
Delegates, where possible, to email results and a short report relating to the match through to their respective League Secretaries.
1st Division format will change to 6 singles and 3 doubles matches, each one the best of 3 legs, EXCEPT in the case of matches against the Rugby Starlets (old Plastics Ladies team) and the Corinthians where the matches will consist of the 6 singles and 3 doubles games but only 1 leg will be played!
There will be a Charity Cup competition organised for Cancer Research in memory of Carl Reece.

To reiterate PLEASE ensure that you contact Nick Williams for your Registration Forms and make sure that they are returned on the 29th August, from 8:00pm, at the Cad. Cons. with all monies payable.

07/09/2008 19:30:23Mike BennettLeague Season Begins on Friday 19th, September.

The 2008/09 season will commence on Friday, 19th September, fixtures will be issued to teams on Friday 12th September, 2008, these can be collected from the Cadoxton Conservative Club between 7.30pm and 9.00pm (Presentation Tickets will also be handed out on that night).

The League Presentation will take place the following Friday, 26th at the Cadoxton Conservative Club, the Committee would be grateful for any raffle prize donations from teams! these can be given on the 12th or brought along on the evening itself.

Could all league delegates please note that there will be a delegates meeting on the first Wednesday of every month at the Cadoxton Consevative Club, 8.00pm start. At the last meeting the Preliminary Round of the League Cup was drawn and the following games will be played on a Tuesday (to be confirmed) in October. The Loungers will play the Mariner, the Castle will host Reeces Raiders, the Westend will play the Allsorts and the Three Bells will play the Highwayman Runaways.
Will all teams also note:
There will be an automatic deduction of 2 points for canceling a league ame on the night or 7 days before, unless the game is played before the date on the fixture list.
In the case of a team cancelling their last fixture of the season, they will be deducted 5 points and the fixture will be switched to the venue of the opposition.

Open Board, ifthe away team is present they must be given the chance to 'warm up' at 8.00pm. If the away team is late then time allowed is at the discretion of the Home Captain. Games to commence at 8.15pm prompt.
Any team or individual player deemed to have brought the Barry and District Darts League in disrepute, will face a penalty to be decided by a disciplinary committe, to be made up of 3 Commitee members and 2 others. If the nature of the Dispute is deemed serious enough then the penalty can result in the offender or team being either suspended or expelled from the League.
Any team winning promotion must take their position in the higher division.
